Synopsis

แมคเมอร์ฟี่ นักโทษสมองใสที่เห็นช่องทางการออกจากคุกด้วยการทำตัวให้คนเชื่อว่าเขาบ้า แต่เรื่องดันมาซวยตรงที่เขาต้องผ่านการบำบัดทางจิตจากสถานบำบัดซะก่อน เขาจึงต้องฆ่าเวลาด้วยการนั่งเล่นไพ่ กับบาสเกตบอลกับเหล่าคนป่วย โดยที่มีนางพยาบาลคนหนึ่งติดตามเขาตลอดเวลา
