Synopsis

คุณครูสอนภาษาให้กับคนหูหนวก คือสอนให้เขาพูดเพื่อสื่อสารใช้ชีวิตกับคนในสังคมได้ ซึ่งบางคนจะไม่มั่นใจในการพูดของตัวเองจึงไม่ยอมพูดทั้งที่พูดได้ (ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่พูดได้ไม่ชัดหรอกเพราะเลียนเสียงได้ไม่ดีเพราะไม่ได้ยิน แต่ก็ช่วยให้สื่อสารกับคนทั่วไปที่ไม่รู้ภาษามือได้) กลับมาที่พระเอก (William Hurt) ที่ไปติดใจสาวทำความสะอาดหูหนวกในโรงเรียนผู้มีอารมณ์โกรธเกรี้ยดกราดสุมอยู่เต็มอกแล้วก็ไม่ยอมเรียนรู้ที่จะพูด
